Private Lessons: Piano and Violin
Piano Lessons at RedSong focus on covering all aspects of musicianship to prepare the student for any context they wish to play in. We develop rhythm skills, technique, and incorporate music theory throughout to ensure that students have a full understanding of not only the “how,” but also the “why” of music. Many of our students enjoy composing their own music as well as choosing songs or styles they wish to learn, so we are able to customize lessons to include these things. All of this is supported by written practice instructions and strategies to guide each student in their practice at home.
Our violin students begin with a foundation of good technique with the focus of producing a beautiful sound from their instrument. We build skills step-by-step while also learning to read music fluently. A good ear is crucial to becoming proficient on violin, so students are supported with ear training practice during lessons as well. Students will receive a practice notebook to keep track of what they’re learning and how to continue improving at home.
All of our students are given the opportunity to perform in at least 2 recitals per year to highlight their learning and growth as well as giving them experience in sharing their music with an audience.
Tuition for private lessons is based on a semesterly schedule and you may divide your total into monthly installments if you wish. Private lesson tuition starts at $28 per week and includes a weekly 30 minute session of one-on-one instruction as well as any needed customized lesson planning, recital access and preparation, access to studio music and learning resources during lessons and ability to communicate with the teacher during the week for needed support or clarification to lesson assignments.
